Socio-professional stigmatization among healthcare workers with COVID-19

Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic had deeply altered the social and professional lives of people with SARS-COV2. anxiety being contaminated by virus during first waves created avoidance behaviors established a climate rejection towards healthcare workers (HW) COVID. Objectives aim this study was to assess stigmatization among Methods This is retrospective cross-sectional carried out on HWs in university hospital Tunis who were affected consulted occupational medicine department. conducted between March 2021 June 2021. Data collection based pre-established forms. questionnaire assessing inspired stigma AIDS patients Results included 100 health personnel. sex ratio (M/W) = 0.29. average age 39.22 ± 9.3 extremes ranging from 24 58 years. seniority 11.39±9.4. Nurses most represented category (26%). psychiatric history was: Depressive disorder (14%) (10%). Eighty HW infected SARS-COV2 for time. Contamination intra-hospital 50% cases. Eighteen been rejected. Verbal abuse COVID noted 8% physical 11%. Twenty-six lost their friends 36 them no longer as much activity before. In workplace, 21% cases, 10 personnel reported discriminatory orientation care 19 felt useless at work. Conclusions Socio-professional should help us understand vulnerability psychological impact crisis workers. Control prevention strategies need be established. Disclosure Interest None Declared
